Cookie Notice

This Cookie Notice explains how Forgeborn uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and apps, what each one does, and how you can control them. It is part of our Privacy Policy.

01What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage and session storage, keep data in your browser in the same way. Session cookies and session storage are deleted when you close the browser or tab; persistent ones stay until they expire or you delete them.

First-party cookies are set by forgeborn.ai. Third-party cookies are set by another company’s service used on our site, such as an analytics tool.

02How we use them

  • Essential: needed for the service to work, such as signing in, keeping your cookie choice, security checks, and checkout. They are always on and do not need your consent.
  • Analytics (optional): help us understand how the service is used so we can improve it. They are only used after you click "Accept" in the cookie bar, and never when you click "Reject" or have not chosen yet.
  • We do not use advertising or social media cookies.

03Essential cookies and storage

Name — purpose — type — how long it lasts:

  • sb-…-auth-token (local storage) — keeps you signed in to your account — essential — until you sign out.
  • forgeborn_token (local storage) — sign-in token used by some sign-in methods — essential — until you sign out.
  • fb-me (session storage) — caches your account details so pages load faster — essential — until you close the tab.
  • fb_next (local storage) — the page to return to after you sign in — essential — until you sign in.
  • fb_terms_accepted_at (local storage) — remembers that you accepted the Terms while your account is being created — essential — until sign-up finishes.
  • fb_cookie_consent (cookie and local storage) — stores your cookie choice ("accepted" or "rejected") — essential — 6 months.
  • Security check (Cloudflare Turnstile) — confirms that a real person is signing up, signing in, or resetting a password; it runs in a frame from challenges.cloudflare.com and may store its own cookies there — essential — up to the session, as set by Cloudflare.
  • Device check (computed in your browser, not stored as a cookie) — a device identifier used only to prevent abuse of free sign-up credits — essential — not stored in your browser.
  • Secure checkout (Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record) — processes your payment on the checkout page; it may set its own cookies for payment security and fraud prevention — essential — as set by Dodo Payments.
  • fb_src (cookie) and fb_ref_visits (local storage) — the link or campaign that referred you, so a new account records where it came from — essential — 30 days.
  • Preferences (local storage and session storage, keys starting with fb-, fb_, fc_ or previs.) — your studio settings, workspace, folders, favorites, layout, grid size, sound, and which notices you have closed — essential — until you clear them or sign out.

04Analytics cookies (only after "Accept")

Name — purpose — type — how long it lasts:

  • _ga (Google Analytics) — tells visits apart to measure how the service is used in aggregate — analytics — 2 years.
  • _ga_<id> (Google Analytics) — keeps the state of a visit — analytics — 2 years.
  • _clck (Microsoft Clarity) — keeps a Clarity user ID and settings so visits by the same browser can be grouped — analytics — 1 year.
  • _clsk (Microsoft Clarity) — connects several page views into one visit — analytics — 1 day.
  • CLID, MUID, SM, ANONCHK (Microsoft Clarity, set on clarity.ms) — identify the browser across sites that use Clarity and keep the visit together; we tell Clarity that ad storage is denied — analytics — up to 1 year (SM: session).

05Microsoft Clarity

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how our pages are used — for example where people click and how far they scroll. It creates heatmaps and anonymized visit replays of page interactions, which help us find pages that are confusing or broken.

Text you type (such as prompts, scripts, chat messages, and names) and images and videos you upload or generate are hidden from Clarity and are not recorded. Clarity does not run on checkout, account, subscription, sign-in callback, or password reset pages. We tell Clarity that you have allowed analytics storage and denied ad storage.

Microsoft processes Clarity data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

06Your choices

When you first visit, the cookie bar lets you choose: "Accept" allows analytics, "Reject" keeps analytics off. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" button below or the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of the home page. After a change to "Reject", analytics stops and its cookies are deleted; Clarity is not loaded again from the next page you open.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies or storage, parts of the service, such as signing in, will not work. Deleting cookies shows the cookie bar again.

Analytics never load before you accept, so a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal from your browser is respected by default.

07Changes to this notice

We will update this notice when we add, change, or remove cookies, and change the "last updated" date above.
